As I research more about how to promote your music, I am learning little tidbits that are useful to use when you start the process of creating an MP3 file. I am looking for tips and tricks to add to all of the categories that I will be adding to Gone Fluting. I invite you to contribute.

Tagging MP3 versions of your songs
For anyone posting a song as an MP3 version, it is important name it so that it can be easily found in the world of computers. There is a standard format that places sites like ITunes like to see. The format is:
Artist_Name_of_Song_mp3. An example from my duo Wind Weaver would be.
Wind_Weaver_Aerial_Wandering.mp3

Notice the use of the underscore_ to separate words. Most computers don’t read punctuation marks and spaces well. Using an underscore_as a space holder makes it easier for computers to look for your music file. Once you decide on a format, be consistent with it. Use it everywhere, even when sending your link to friends and family.
